Eagle Scout Earned Despite COVID-19

Congratulations Eagle Scout Jackson Robino, son of Josh and Stephanie Robino. Scoutmaster is Mike O'Donnell, BSA Troop 649, Belgrade.  The Chartering Organization is the Belgrade Community Church.  This is our first Eagle Scout where the Board of Review was conducted through the internet!

For his Eagle project, Jackson built a Community Food Pantry to provide food security to the residents of Belgrade, MT. This was modeled after a Little Free Library, but instead of books, the cabinet holds food. Jackson worked with the Gallatin County Food Bank and the Belgrade Community Library, where it is located. The pantry will be stocked on a weekly basis by the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. Donations were received from the Belgrade City Council and Bozeman Trophy and Engraving. The total number of service hours by ALL volunteers for Jackson's Eagle project: 147.5 (56 Jackson, 91.5 volunteers)

Jackson's favorite camp is Camp Melita Island, Montana Council BSA.

I am so happy that they are still earning badges even during this tough time. Well, they are all growing, and it would be bad if their childhood gets ruined over this. If we can go and make ourselves available to these children at all times, then that would definitely mean a lot to them. I seriously believe that it is only a matter of time before they become older and older. I seriously hope that they grow up well.
