Memorial Day Parade 2020Date: Monday, May 25th
Time: 8:30 am assembly Location: Assemble @ Boot Barn Parking Lot, Bozeman You may ask yourself why should we ask our young Scouts and Leaders to participate in the Memorial Day Parade? There are many reasons but just let me give you a couple. There will be 81 members of the Gold Star families present. These are the families who have lost individuals in service to our country. We are there to honor them and all other veterans who sacrificed so much for all of us to live as we do. Another reason I would give is as we read the Scout oath and law, it definitely fits into what we should do as Scouts for our community. So please join us for the Parade on Memorial Day morning. It will only take a couple of hours, probably 2 ½.
We will meet between 8:30 and 8:45 in the Boot Barn parking lot across from the Food Coop on Main Street (formerly the old Safeway store). The Parade starts at 9:30 but we will practice ahead of time in able to look sharp and know what and where to honor the Gold Star families. The Parade finishes at the corner of Wallace and Main. All Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Venturers, including Leaders, should be in as full a uniform as you have, which ideally is your Field Shirt, Scout Pants, Necherchief, and Belt. If you as the leader of your unit can not make it, could you get someone to assist in making sure we get some scouts from your group? If you could email me with a number you might be able to bring, this would help in planning. My email is [email protected] Please come and join us in honoring our veterans.
