Upcoming Classes

Investigate this: What training will help leaders be better and happier?

We are making progress on our required training, and now we have a new question. What training can we offer beyond the basics? In the recent survey of Cub Scout leaders asking what classes they want at PowWow, several said "more training", and then one said "prozac", which is really a cry for very, very much more training. I am asking all trainers to ask just two people this question " What training would help be a better, happier leader?" Please enter all answers you get into this form:

If you are interested in becoming a BLAST trainer (Beginning Leader Accelerated Success Training), we could use more on the team. You should watch the class delivered twice, and then we can start easing you into instruction. Just SIGN-UP and put a note in the comment that you are interested in teaching.

WFA and Stop the Bleed

We have been asked to look at adding Stop the Bleed to our training, both to supplement WFA and to be able to offer the one-hour class to the public. This is a national campaign offered through the Department of Homeland Security aimed at saving lives through helping people act faster and more effectively in severe bleed cases. We are in the early stages of looking at this, and will need instructors as well as a way to fund the $400 training kit. If you have any contacts at SHOOTING RANGES who might be interested in underwriting the start-up cost, let me know. Also, if you re interested in working with the program, let me know that too!

The WFA class this year will max at 30 participants, which is 20 new and 10 recertifications. This means we will need to double the moulage victims in order to challenge our recertifications. If you are interested in working on the moulage team OR you have scouts who are great actors/actresses and like gore, please contact FRANK DOUGHER so he can put you on his contact list.

Training Team Contact List

I am working to develop a list of everyone who is on the training team, including all our range trained people. This is just a start - I am am missing people and skills, so take a look and update this list! Specifically:
1. Add your address and phone
2. Indicate if you are a Director (can put on the course), Instructor (can teach part of the course), or something else.
3. Somebody you know who should be on it? Add them, and send them the link please.

Thank you!
