Montana Council ICL Campaign 2021What is ICL and why should we participate?
Our Investment in Character and Leadership (ICL) campaign is the council's single largest source to fund Scouting in Montana. When you and your unit participate, it pays for us to maintain the council's summer camp properties, employ a staff of over 122 persons (including summer camp), create resources for programs, training and safety (think background checks, video conferencing, websites, etc.), run Scout shops and, most importantly, recognize youth and adults for their contributions to the program. Put simply, without ICL, Scouting cannot and will not exist in Montana. Scouting is not inexpensive. We ask our families to pay for registration, dues, uniforms, books, events and more. We also encourage Scouts to earn their way with things like popcorn sales. Opportunities exist for every Scout, regardless of their financial situation. Why? ICL. We create scholarships for everything from registration to summer camp. That is only possible because of the donations that we receive. Julie Evans Development Director |
Help Your Unit and Montana Council! These donations are more important than ever. Due to the pandemic and other social influences, Scouting now needs its most important ambassadors to step up. We need YOU.
It is likely we won't be able to meet face-to-face for ICL asks this year. We would like to invite you to a virtual ICL Community Breakfast. The breakfast will be presented live on Thursday, March 11th at 7a and is likely about 30 minutes. We implore you to promote this event with the families and friends in your unit. Share the link with anyone you would like. The more, the merrier. We will follow up and ensure donations are credited to your unit's ICL incentive program, offering discounts at the store, discounted registrations to camp or training, free rank advancements and pinewood derby cars. The breakfast link is: www.montanabsa.org/breakfast Invites through your District Executive are also available. We are excited to stand together for this important event. A Scout is helpful. Help us reach our combined goals and keep Scouting strong and the adventure alive in our communities. |
